PRE-ENGINEERED, NOT PRE-CUT
Most log home kits include pre-cut logs. The manufacturers say that's
convenient. We disagree. Not only are pre-cut logs more expensive,
they also prevent you from making last-minute changes in the plans
(not even to move a window a few inches). A mistake on the site can
mean waiting for a replacement log, and a shipping error can hold you
up days or weeks waiting for a new shipment. That doesn't sound like
convenience.
We will send you all the logs you need to finish your home, along
with a few extra. If you want to move a window for a better view, go
ahead and move it*. If you make a mistake in cutting, save the mistake
(it will likely fit somewhere else) and cut one of the extra logs.
There's another benefit... the time and energy we save by
not pre-cutting the logs means a savings in money which we can pass
along to you.
*Subject to engineering restrictions.
